There seems to be some confusion around how to see who views your TikToks and who viewed your TikTok profile. Don’t worry, I’ll explain why there is confusion and cover what you can actually see in your account.
I’m not going to explain what TikTok is and how popular it has become. I’m guessing you know all that already! Why does every article do that?
I will answer a few other TikTok viewing questions and show you how to control what people see on your TikTok account. This is part of a series of articles covering TikTok when you have a minute check out How to Hack TikTok legally and ethically.

Can You See Who Views Your TikTok Videos?
The answer is no, you can’t see any individual who has viewed your TikTok videos. TikTok doesn’t want people to be able to see who views their videos for two reasons. The first reason is that they don’t want creators to obsess over numbers. The second reason is that they don’t want users to be able to stalk other users.
It is a privacy issue and although some other platforms such as Instagram have ways to see who has been watching your videos, TikTok chose not to share this information.
They do have some ways you can get viewing numbers overall and they have TikTok analytics for some useful data. I’ll cover these below.
Be careful when searching for this online. Some third-party apps claim they can show you who has watched your TikToks and other information. Don’t waste your time, these are scams and do not return any results.

Can You See Who Viewed Your TikTok Profile?
Remember the confusion I mentioned? Well, some articles online say that you can’t see who views your TikTok profile. They all say that this feature was removed by TikTok. They are partly correct, but I’m afraid they haven’t been updating their guides!
Originally, TikTok allowed you to see who viewed your profile, then in 2020, they removed it. They didn’t explain why. But, early in 2022, they started to roll out this feature once again. It’s called Profile View History and has been updated.
How TikTok Profile View History Works
The TikTok profile view history is not enabled by default, you need to enable it yourself. You must be over 16 years old to use it and have less than 5,000 followers. To enable this feature:
- Sign in to your account
- Select your Profile
- Tap the three bars at the top right
- Tap Settings and Privacy
- Select Privacy and then scroll down to Profile Views
- Toggle the icon to On
That’s it enabled. But, there is one major drawback. You will only see profile views from someone who has also enabled this feature. As it isn’t enabled by default most profile views are unlikely to show up.
It’s a little strange why TikTok has things set up this way. It might make more sense to allow people to opt out – but what do I know? Maybe they think people prefer to navigate through TikTok anonymously.
What About Using TikTok Analytics?
TikTok has an analytics section that provides some useful data about your videos. Again though, using TikTok analytics will not let you see who viewed your profile or your videos. It will give you things like total views for each TikTok and engagement statistics.
It is very useful for anyone hoping to grow their TikTok account. As before you need to enable analytics for your account. Here’s how to do it:
- Login to your account
- Tap the three bars
- Select Creator Tools
- Scroll down to select Analytics and enable the features you want
Once it starts collecting data you can view lots of useful engagement information and see things like where your users are located and interest groups. Definitely some useful information but again, no user-specific information is available.
How to Check Your TikTok View Count
Here is a quick way to check your total view count for each posted video on TikTok. It won’t let you identify who viewed your videos but gives a total count of views for that video.
When you are in your account, you’ll see a number next to the home icon. That’s how many TikToks you have. Tap on that number and you’ll see a list of all the TikToks you’ve posted. Next to each TikTok, you’ll see a number. That’s how many views that TikTok has received.
Does TikTok Tell You Who Liked Your Video?
Yes, you can see who liked or commented on your TikTok video. And, in a way this lets you know they have watched your video (or they wouldn’t be liking or commenting).
Set this up by going to your account and selecting the “Activity” Tab. Here you can enable notifications if someone likes or comments on your content. Now you will be able to see when someone likes and comments on your TikTok videos.
Can You See Who Downloaded Your TikTok Videos?
TikTok will not let you see who saved or downloaded your video. It will show up as a Share in your analytics dashboard.
Remember, not all videos can be downloaded from TikTok. Creators have the option to allow or disallow downloading of their videos. If you can download the video it will also display the TikTok watermark.

Just remember TikTok does not want you to use other people’s videos on their platform. So, if you are thinking of using someone else’s video, bear that in mind. You could end up in legal problems due to copyright infringement.
You need to be careful if you use a TikTok video download app. Some of them are malicious and can infect your device with viruses. SnapTik is a safe way to download TikTok videos but be aware that other methods might not be.

How to Control Who Views Your TikToks?
Are you looking for a way to control who views your TikToks? Maybe you only want to share your videos with certain people. The best way to do this on TikTok is to set your account to Private.
From your account profile navigate to “Settings and Privacy“. In Privacy, you can select Private Account.
This makes your account private and you can control who has access to your videos. Just remember unless you share with specific people, no one will be able to see your content.
Summary
Unfortunately, you cannot see who viewed your TikTok videos. There are some workarounds like using TikTok analytics and notifications. You can see who liked or commented on your video, which lets you know they have watched it. But, in general, it is not possible to see who has viewed your content.
TikTok has some features that let you see who views your profile, but they are not enabled by default. You need to go into your account settings and turn them on. The drawback is that only people who have turned this feature on will be shown.
TikTok also has an analytics section where you can see data about your videos and profile, but it does not show user-specific information. They seem pretty keen to keep high levels of privacy compared to some other sharing platforms.
